About the project
We had been asked to convert a walk in chiller into a walk in freezer, and to build a walk in freezer in a store cupboard to the right of the chiller. Due to the existing room conditions built for a chiller we had to make modifications including a new insulated floor with a heat mat and a new sliding door. We carried out the same style throughout the new small walk in freezer to make it an all in one room. Due to there being two independent systems across the two rooms, we installed curtains to keep the temperatures within those rooms mainly for defrost purposes. The system is controlled using 2 x GB Universal Controllers and Thermal Dynamics transformers and controllers for the door heater and floor mat.
